Leadership

Jim Bailey

CPCU, CPA | President

Since 2004, Jim has served as President of Pritchard & Jerden, leading strategy and developing a high-performing leadership team.

Jim began his career as a CPA with Arthur Young & Company, moved into insurance in 1987 and joined P&J in 1997. He is a CPCU with experience across a broad set of risk and financial program areas.

He serves on the Board of the Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers, as Vice Chair and Founding Member of the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation, and participates in Assurex Global.

Charles Caswell

CLU | Executive Vice President | Principal | Property & Casualty

Charlie is a Chartered Life Underwriter and is actively working towards his Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter designation. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Management from the University of Tennessee. Charlie is a member of the American Society of Certified Life Underwriters. In addition, he serves on the Northside Athletes Foundation.

He has over 30 years experience in handling insurance in both the property and casualty and employee benefits areas and manages the Real Estate Practice Group for the agency.

Dave Mathews

CPCU, ARM | Executive Vice President | Principal | Property & Casualty

Dave earned his B.S. from Miami University in 1990. In 1992 he joined Pritchard & Jerden and became a principal in 1998. He specializes in designing Risk Management and Insurance Programs for public and private corporations in manufacturing, distribution, retail, hospitality, professional services and nonprofit industries. Dave consults with companies using captives and self-insurance as risk financing methods.

Dave is currently a member of Zoo Atlanta Leadership Council, Camp Twin Lakes Risk Committee and Cowart YMCA Board.  He is a Leadership Atlanta Class of 2017 Alumni.  He is also the Co-Founder of the Annual Nonprofit Leadership Conference currently in its 7th year.

Jon Nordin

CPCU, CWCP | Executive Vice President | Principal | Property & Casualty

Jon earned his BBA in Risk Management and Insurance from the University of Georgia. He joined Pritchard & Jerden in 1999, was made shareholder in 2004, and was elected to the Executive Committee in 2012. Jon specializes in complex insurance brokerage and risk management, with particular expertise in Real Estate, Power & Energy, Hospitality, Contracting, Manufacturing and Distribution accounts. He obtained his Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Certified Workers’ Compensation Professional (CWCP) designations.  Jon is a licensed agent in both Property & Casualty and Life & Employee Benefits.

Rob Peters

RHU | Executive Vice President | Principal | Employee Benefits

Rob has over 15 years’ experience in the employee benefits space. As P&J’s practice group leader, his role is both strategic and tactical. He creates and enables client service teams and oversees delivery of all P&J benefit services, but at the same time, directly serves clients across industries, evaluating and implementing comprehensive benefit plans — from strategy, plan design and administration, to communication and vendor management.

Rob is active in the Georgetown Alumni Association and is an all-around sports guy — whether coaching, participating, or spectating, he’s there — field, green, or court. He lives in Atlanta with his wife, Meghan, and three children, Bobby, Barrett & Lillian.

Shannon Price

Executive Vice President | Principal | Private Client Group

Shannon earned her BS from Appalachian State University in Communications and Public Relations. She is a licensed agent in both Property & Casualty and Life & Health insurance. Shannon has more than 19 years’ experience in personal insurance, with a concentration in understanding and mitigating complex risks. Her primary strength and expertise is designing personal insurance programs for successful individuals and families throughout the United States.

Shannon is a member of Peachtree Road United Methodist Church, serves on the Board of Advisors for Camp High Harbour Allatoona and a is a member of the Fernbank Corporate Leadership Council. Shannon and her husband, Byron, live in Atlanta with their two daughters Regan and Ryan.

Patrick Bell

Vice President | Principal | Employee Benefits

Patrick earned his BBA from Georgia State University and is an Account Executive in the Life & Employee Benefits area. He has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. Patrick joined Pritchard & Jerden in 1999 and became a partner in 2005. Prior to Pritchard & Jerden, he was the senior marketing representative for Blue Cross/Blue Shield of South Carolina.

Brian Boro

CPCU | Vice President | Principal | Risk Management

Brian has a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Risk Management and Insurance from the University of Georgia.  He earned his Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation in 2007. Brian has 17 years of experience in the Property & Casualty brokerage and risk management industry.  He joined Pritchard & Jerden in 2002 as Marketing Manager and became a partner in 2007.  He left briefly to pursue an opportunity with a large global brokerage firm but returned to P&J in 2017 to become the lead risk management consultant for a Fortune 500 client’s real estate division.

Tony Burger

CPCU, ARM-E, ARM, AAI | Principal | Property & Casualty

Tony has over 40+ years’ experience in designing Holistic Risk Management & Insurance programs for commercial business owners.  Tony earned his BBA in Risk Management & Insurance from Georgia State University.  He holds several industry professional designations including the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Risk Management-Enterprise Risk Management (ARM-E), Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AAI). He has received Career Achievement awards from the Georgia State University department of Risk Management along with Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity.  Tony is a past Chairman of Pritchard & Jerden.

Lawson Burnat

CPCU, AIS | Vice President | Principal | Property & Casualty

Lawson joined Pritchard & Jerden in 2008.  His expertise lies in the Retail Rent-to-Own industry with clients across the United States.  He also has experience in working with Law Firms, Staffing Firms, Real Estate, Manufacturers and Distributors, among others, with a special focus on the Alternative Risk Marketplace.  Lawson has a Bachelor’s degree from The University of Georgia where he was an Economics major.   He is a licensed Property & Casualty Agent and has obtained his Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Associate in Insurance Services (AIS) designations.  He is also a graduate of the Cincinnati Insurance Company Underwriting School.

Rob Dornbush

Vice President | Principal | Employee Benefits

Since 2007, Rob has been working closely with his clients to help them understand the financial risks associated with their benefit programs and how to maximize the return on investment in their people. His progressive approach to business consulting continues to create measurable results that are instrumental to his clients’ needs to increase profitability and employee morale. He is a member of Peachtree Presbyterian, Volunteer Baseball Coach, and an active runner with most recently completing his first ultramarathon and the Boston Marathon. Rob earned a BBA from University of Georgia. He lives in Brookhaven with his wife, Julie and two kids, Ben and Olivia.

Steve Heinen

CWCP, AAI | Principal | Risk Management Advisor | Property & Casualty

Steve graduated from the University of Georgia and has been in the insurance business since 1983. Prior to joining Pritchard and Jerden in 2013, he served as the risk manager for a large national broker. Steve’s focus is workers’ compensation, and his book “The Work Comp Playbook for Employers” has sold over 2,000 copies. He developed the comP4® process which has helped hundreds of organizations reduce cost. He also founded the CWCP (Certified Workers’ Compensation Program) in 1999.

Steve currently holds his AAI and CWCP designation and has been very active in the Independent Insurance Agents of Georgia. He has received their Presidents Citation, Past Presidents Award, and Exceptional Service Award. Steve is very active in his community and is married with two children.

Allen Lumpkin

CIC, ARM | Vice President | Principal | Property & Casualty

Allen attended the University of Alabama where he majored in Finance and Economics. This education has served him well in evaluating the cost benefit of alternative risk financing options for his clients  (this includes captives, retro programs, self-insured programs, as well as other risk financing alternatives to the standard insurance market place). In addition to the standard lines of coverage, Allen has become an expert in Cyber Liability and the issues associated around this emerging risk that affects every industry.

Allen works with many different verticals and has developed a niche in Hospitality, Life Sciences, Technology, Manufacturing/Distribution, Senior Living, as well as Real Estate. In his spare time, he enjoys coaching his two sons in their athletic endeavors, playing golf, traveling, and giving back to the community. Allen and his family are members of Peachtree Road United Methodist Church.

Mike Mewbourne

Vice President | Principal | Employee Benefits

Since 2000, Mike has specialized in employee benefits consulting. As an advisor to his clients, he plays a key role in making the most of every dollar that is spent on healthcare services and wellness programs. As an educator, his role is to teach his clients’ employees how to become intelligent healthcare purchasers and to understand and navigate their benefits most effectively. Mike graduated from Valdosta State University with a Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science. His academic expertise provides him the knowhow to create awareness in the field of health and wellness and educate employees on the benefits of good health practices.

Brad Disque

Risk Advisor | Private Client Group

Brad earned his BBA in Risk Management and Insurance from the University of Georgia in 1998 and  joined Pritchard & Jerden in 2000.  He is licensed in both Property & Casualty and Life & Health Insurance.  Brad has worked in the Private Client Group helping individuals and families with their personal insurance needs for 20 years. Brad is a member of Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church and lives in Decatur with his wife Laura and daughter Caroline.
